ROCAR SION, Romanian leader in LPG direct injection conversions, obtains the license with the highest power in KW for Zavoli Sys

During the period October 2024 - March 2025, Rocar Sion passed the pollution emission tests and followed the recertification procedure for its products, obtaining the license with the highest power in kW in Romania for the Zavoli LPG system with eVP 500 reducer.

Thus enables all ROCAR approved workshops for LPG systems and authorized by the Romanian Auto Registry, to perform installations for cars with polluting emission levels up to Euro 6E and with a power between 35Kw and 594Kw, the equivalent of 796 Horsepower.

It is the License with the highest power in kW so far, giving the possibility of equipping very powerful cars such as DODGE RAM TRX 6.2, RAM 5.7 HEMI, RAM 1500 3.0L 540HP/706 Nm with Zavoli LPG systems. The demand for these types of cars with a high power in kW has increased recently in Romania and due to the development of the agricultural sector but also of construction companies that need cars that can access difficult roads and can be used in extreme conditions of use.

After the pollution tests have been passed, ROCAR obtains the possibility of equipping cars with a pollutant emission level up to Euro 6E, being the only licenses in Romania updated to the latest Euro6 E (EA) pollution standards. The LPG conversion program for new cars, initiated by ROCAR SION in collaboration with Westport Fuel Systems, will continue in 2025 and LPG users will benefit from special insurance for LPG conversions for new cars through Allianz Tiriac. The range of cars on which LPG can be installed is increasingly widening and this year, expectations for the sale of new LPG cars are considerable, on the one hand due to the launch of new technologies in the field such as the ECU AFC 3.0DI Compact but also due to the decline in sales of electric cars, with the green deals at European level being in question.

The recertification process consisted of testing the level of pollutants of several new cars with Euro 6E pollutant emissions and a detailed check of the LPG car installation component, both from the point of view of installation but also regarding the authorization and certification of each component according to the European regulations in force.

Westport Fuel Systems and Rocar Sion have allocated the necessary resources, both from an engineering and financial point of view, for the preparation of documentation, the implementation of test assemblies and the calibration of cars with the ZAVOLI LPG Installation from Italy. Relatively new cars, with a mileage of up to 15,000Km, were used for the emissions tests and for the power evaluation tests.

It was a real challenge for the Rocar Sion Team, which for 6 months responded positively to all the tests. It is a unique experience in the automotive field to actively participate in the implementation of such a project, in which cars after conversion to LPG, are subjected to pollution tests in order to verify and analyze the emission level, this having the aim of reducing emissions.
